About us

The Space Between Theatre Company was set up to explore combining different types of performance – music, movement, text – on stage.  Using performers from a cross section of disciplines we find new ways of telling ancient tales, and ancient ways to tell new ones.  The company combines innovative and unusual staging practice with a focus on skilled performance.

Set up in 2011 by Lisa Wells-Turner, the company builds on her earlier solo work combining classical music, movement and text.  The first production, a devised piece based on Sophocles’ Antigone, had it’s initial public performances on the 30th July, 2011 in central London.  More details can be found here.

The Space Between was formed as a graduate company from the MA in Advanced Theatre Practice at the Central School of Speech and Drama.  It is based in Cardiff where it recently presented ‘An Alternative Christmas Show‘.  It also has a friendly relationship with Iris Theatre and is collaborating with them on WorkinProcess4: Cross Platform on 22 March 2012.
